Palmdale Regional Medical Center Appoints Casey Barbiera as Chief Nursing Officer

Palmdale Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Catherine (Casey) Barbiera has been appointed as Chief Nursing Officer at the hospital.

Barbiera has served in senior administrative roles for over 10 years in various areas of patient care services for Dignity Health, Regal Health Corporation and Casey BarbieraKindred Hospital/Los Angeles, among other facilities. During her tenure she has held different roles of increasing responsibility including Senior Administrator, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Clinical Officer. She provides operational leadership for all nursing and clinical services to include but not limited to: Nursing Administration, Education, Emergency Room, Urgent Care, Perioperative Services, Critical Care, Telemetry, Medical Surgical, Acute Rehabilitation, Sub-Acute, Pediatrics and Outpatient Clinic Services. She has also provided leadership oversight for the following clinical ancillary services: Physical Therapy, Laboratory, Respiratory, Radiology, Nutrition and Pharmacy.

As a strong patient advocate, she has been instrumental in developing unique programs that resulted in facility-wide best practices for: Pain Management, Transitional Care, Palliative Care, Diabetes Management, Fall Reduction, Wound Care and Readmission Prevention. She possesses executive level experience for completion of TJC, CMS, CDPH, CARF, ACoS and AAAHC surveys. She has demonstrated expertise with performance improvement and safety initiatives, strategic planning for clinical practice, service line and business growth, patient satisfaction, service recovery and physician and employee relations.

Barbiera earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from California State University, Dominguez Hills, with an emphasis on nursing administration, and a Certification in Quality Management. She also received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
