Palmdale Regional Medical Center to Host Heart/Stroke Walk

Palmdale Regional Medical Center will be hosting a Heart/Stroke Walk in solidarity with the American Heart Association® and the American Stroke Association® to raise funds and bring awareness to research funding for heart and stroke issues. The American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association are nonprofit organizations in the United States that fund cardiovascular medical research, educate consumers on healthy living and foster appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Palmdale Regional Medical Center is a designated STEMI Receiving Center for heart attack care and is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center for stroke victims. The hospital supports the effort of awareness and research to combat cardiovascular disease and stroke.

The 2023 Heart/Stroke Walk will occur on Saturday, November 4 at 10 a.m. at Marie Kerr Park. The area that will be utilized is located behind the pool recreation area at 27th Street West and the baseball diamonds.

Nana Deeb, CEO of Palmdale Regional Medical Center, will be present to welcome the teams to the walk. Palmdale Mayor Laura Bettencourt will be present to speak to the audience about her experience with stroke and Palmdale Regional Medical Center. The warm-up for the walk will be led by the Antelope Valley Ballet. There will be two choices of paths to walk – a short path and a longer path that will be clearly marked near the gathering site.

Food trucks will be available for refreshments. The public is invited to attend.
